Whilst this is not an ideal situation for anyone, there are ways you can help yourself, your job security and career advancements. We took a look at some courses that focused on the digital skills we thought could offer UK workers the chance to either upskill their existing skill set or learn a new and in-demand skill. Research suggests that over 85% of jobs require a certain level of digital ability. These courses could help future proof your career progression.


Digital Marketing:

According to recent research, the UK now boasts the biggest digital advertising market in Europe with the sector experiencing eight consecutive years of growth. Digital marketing is not exclusive to the ‘big boys’ either. Over 50% of SME’s are involved in selling and marketing their products and services online and this is only set to grow. Learning new digital marketing skills could improve your career opportunities and lead you to a much-desired promotion.

This free course from Google Digital Garage covers 26 modules packed full of practical exercises and real-world examples to help you turn knowledge into action. The course certification is backed by the Interactive Advertising Bureau Europe and The Open University.


Social Media Marketing:

Digital marketing skills encompass the use of social media; one of the most widely used marketing platforms used in business today. 84% of people across the world that have access to the internet, use social media (3.8billion users). Understanding how to implement a successful social media marketing strategy for business is very different to using it for ‘social’ purposes. Undertaking a social media marketing course would be a beneficial skill for anyone looking to progress their marketing career.

Learning how to master this software package could be the key to unlocking your career potential.
